BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Drivers Larry Pearson and Charlie Glotzbach, both injured when Glotzbach's car T-boned Pearson's during Saturday's Showdown legends charity race at Bristol Motor Speedway, remained hospitalized Sunday at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Pearson is listed in fair condition after surgery Saturday night to repair a compound fracture of his lower left ankle. Pearson's family said, "Larry is very sore, but stable." They added that he "came out of surgery OK," but confirmed Pearson will need to undergo additional surgery on his fractured hip at a later time. He also suffered a fractured right wrist in the accident.

Pearson is likely to remain in the hospital at least one more day, according to a news release issued Sunday afternoon by Bristol Motor Speedway.

Glotzbach is listed in good condition and his family reports that he was "feeling much better" Sunday.

The 35-lap event was won Saturday by Rick Wilson, who traded passes with Phil Parsons in the closing laps after a lengthy red-flag delay following the Pearson-Glotzbach incident coming out of Turn 2 with just four laps remaining.
